About Me

In 2002 I left the music and recording studio businesses to pursue a career in digital media. I started in the trenches of content production on several websites for a large integrated-media company where I was responsible for writing content, documenting content inventories and planning content overall. My belief is that content is the hub of all online communities whatever that content might be.

After four years of content strategy and production, I eventually moved over into the realm of social media as a Producer of Online Communities. For the last year I’ve been focusing on: social media strategic planning, membership systems, moderation and online safety and privacy for kids. Much of my work requires me to stay on top of COPPA and PIPEDA and other key legislation in order to make informed recommendations and work efficiently with business affairs.

I am also exposed to upholding self-regulatory standards in advertising through integrated campaigns in MMOs. Working on MMOs provides me with progressive insight into the world of online gaming communities and maintaining lines of communication in order to facilitate conversation and interactivity in new ways.

I’m an advocate and participant of social media sites, in general. I believe it’s important for youth to be educated about their rights to privacy and not fear the experiences of participating and sharing content and ideas in an online community.

I hope to share ideas and resources and begin some discussions about these exciting and highly-connected times we live in.
